 YORKSHIRE BACK INTO THE BLACK
Building society swung back into the black Saturday July 31,2010 By Daily Express ReporterYORKSHIRE Building Society swung back into the black in the first half and said it was on track to nearly double its lending this year.
The UK’s second biggest society made pre-tax profits of £65.4million against a loss of £22.3million last time. The group said its merger with Chelsea Building Society in April was progressing well and the Chelsea was performing above expectations. The society is targeting £35million of cost savings a year and said 48 jobs had been axed, while another 35 were at risk.
